Linda Perry

Coming to Pilates from a long history of balancing movement and business, I spent 10 years in NYC teaching, choreographing and dancing while working within the apparel field with industry giant Levi Strauss & Co. in sales, marketing, and management after completing a B.A. in Speech Theater and Dance and an M.F.A. in Dance from University of Michigan. After many years of working within the apparel field I transitioned into Pilates and the fitness industry obtaining certification with Khita Whatt through Core Grace Pilates Studio in Ann Arbor. Working alongside Khita for many years I also taught in many other locations such as Chelsea Health & Wellness Center, YMCA, UM, Dexter and Saline Recreation Centers, and THFC@WCC as well as other locations within the Detroit Metro area. I continued to teach mat and reformer Pilates, as well as developing Gentle Pilates & Meditation (Conscious Movement) at The Health & Fitness Center at WCC where I was in management roles including the Director of the center for nine years. In Fall 2017 I am also on staff teaching Mat, Reformer, and Gentle Pilates with Meditation at Intelligent Exercise studio in Ann Arbor, MI.

Over the past 15 years the Pilates field has expanded upon itself and continues to provide the public with many unique ways to experience the form and benefits, while maintaining the integrity of the modality developed by Joseph Pilates which is exciting to observe. My philosophy remains “movement and fitness are medicine for the mind, body, and spirit” and my goal is to remain moving with joy through life as well as to be able to provide that experience to anyone else searching! My greatest joy over the past 17 years of working within the fitness and Pilates industries has been to observe the changes and growth to all individuals through working consciously with Pilates and to incorporate that into daily life and move with strength, flexibility, and mindfulness.
